Position: Technical Services Technician

Location: Eagle Mine, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA

 

General Description:

Responsible for all Geologic support activities associated with mining, to include Ore Control, Ore Routing, and Production Tracking.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaises with Geologists at all stages of activities for core shed logging, core sampling and cutting, core management, and general maintenance of facilities as required (e.g., restocking core logging and cutting supplies, facility snow removal)

• Monitors supplies and materials for drilling to ensure drilling activities are functional

• Assist Geotechnical group with instrumentation installation and maintenance, pull testing when needed

• Assist Backfill Engineer with sampling, testing, and data entry

• Embraces a high standard of workplace safety, occupational health and environmental impact management and complies with Eagle's integrated HSEC standards

• Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 1 year of relevant experience

• Working knowledge of basic computer systems and software

• Data recording and input experience preferred

• Experience with drill core and warehouse management preferred

• Experience with forklift preferred

• Able to live and work in the USA

HSEC Accountabilities:

• Participate in HSEC training provided to them

• Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
